Semi flex succesfully printed with hack

Today I printed ICE-Flex filament. The first 2 times it wound around the extruder gear. So I looked at the problem and the filament seems a little small/ flexible for the extruder wheel. So I took some electric tape and wound it 4 times around the extruder gear and tried again.

This time it went perfect, it feels really strong. Im thinking to try and print a smartphone protector out of the material.

That's awesome, thanks for sharing! Ive tried to develop a guide to prevent gear wrapping, but there's very little room in there for anything. I must try this :)

nice hack brett. i tried something similar by re making a slightly bigger gear out of colorfabb ht. it worked for about 2 mins then disintegrated. the principle is there. ive also just read about some success with raftaway and slower speeds which are better for flex filament.

Yes, with speed reduced to 50% with RaftAway all the issues with feeding flex filament went away for me.
