Materials Compatibility / Semi flex succesfully printed with hack
« on: February 07, 2017, 09:24:15 PM »
Today I printed ICE-Flex filament. The first 2 times it wound around the extruder gear. So I looked at the problem and the filament seems a little small/ flexible for the extruder wheel. So I took some electric tape and wound it 4 times around the extruder gear and tried again.

This time it went perfect, it feels really strong. Im thinking to try and print a smartphone protector out of the material.

Materials Compatibility / ColorFab Copperfill printed with great success
« on: February 06, 2017, 08:26:19 PM »
I'm very happy with the result, for me the print came out perfect with the acceptable string at the top. The model weighs about 3 times as much as a regular ABS print (last seconds of the video) because of the heavy copper dust in the filament. With that added weight, a spool of 750g does not contain that many meters of filament. It is quite expensive but depending on the model it will be worth it.

Printed
- at 230deg (higher than recommended 220 but with fans it won't flow with a lower temp)
- at 90micron layer height
- with low support
- sliced in Z-Suite
- added 1000 micron more retraction with raftaway to eliminate stringing

I made a time laps of the printing

General Discussion / can only print PLA at 235deg
« on: February 04, 2017, 07:06:45 PM »
A while ago I bought a Z-temp and all other equipment to upgrade my m200 and so far I love it.

Today I tried to print PLA for the first time and it started clicking constantly.
For other materials (like woodfill) I increased the temp 10deg and it stopped so I did the same for the PLA.
It stopped clicking at -40 with ABS profile. The recommended temp is between 180-210.
So now Im printing PLA with Z-temp Yellow so at 235deg and the strange thing is the print came out perfectly.

Is it a problem or can I print happily ever after at way to high temperatures and what can be the reason?

Further info latest software, new 0.4mm nozzle
