all metal feed tube
« on: October 21, 2017, 12:40:13 PM »
Hiya

just got to play with all metal feed tube but am having problems with blockages/ feeding. ive measured the filament and its definetly getting stuck in the feed tube. Im using a pa12 filament. i ve swapped out to a new 0.5 nozzle and tried up to 300c to ensure the material is viscous enough.

what should the bore size be in the tube?

by the way customs took another £20 off my hands for just the two feed tubes you sent over. thats almost the cost of the parts!

thanks
paul

I haven't tried PA12, but most of the internet info I see recommends 240 - 275º. I'd try the low end of the range first in case swelling in the tube is an issue. The bore of the tube is 2.0mm. I might also try using the PTFE hot end, with the understanding that the tube might need to be changed occasionally.

Sorry about your customs experience - how is nearly 100% duty even possible? That's outrageous. The value and HS code of the goods was correctly indicated on the customs form.
