Yep, love that twin fan.

I get good prints in Polymax...love the stuff, it's awesome.

Maybe try -70, 60% fan and normal speed. ABS.

I've never had any issues with stringing with those settings, with either Z or ZT-HE hot ends.

The ZT-HE gives a slightly nicer finish with Polymax though.

Hi hobbymods,

Do you use a single or a dual fans to print with Polymax ?

additive-3d

I change all my machines to dual fan.

It's for me a necessary mod for the Zortrax

Polymax is my favorite material for parts requiring strength hands down.

It all ready printed fine through the standard Z hotend, but I'm seeing an even better, more precise print with the ZT-HE, and nicer surfaces.

Just a subtle 5-10% improvement, but it's definitely better.

Nice support removal too if you are careful what you print with it. Internal or hard to reach support should be avoided.

Z-Temp @ -70
ABS 0.19
60% fan
Bed heated then switched off before starting print
No shim

Materials Compatibility / Jaycar Australia PLA

http://www.jaycar.com.au/Tools-%26-Soldering/Power-Tools/Other-Power-Tools/1-75mm-3D-Filament-PLA---1kg/p/TL4060

Printed absolutely no problem at all in 0.29, 0.19 and even a 16 hour print in 0.09.

All with the following settings:

Z-Temp @ -70
Fan 100%
ABS profile
Bed pre heated but turned off when initiating print.
No shim

Extrudes no problem at all with no sign of delamination or any other issue.

Some retraction blobbing and hair, most likely due to ABS profile having some difference to PLA requirements, but very strong print with good surfaces.

Support removal was more difficult than ABS but certainly not a big issue. I haven't really cleaned this part up or hit it with the heat gun.

This filament is just too expensive, but is one of the few you can buy off the shelf in a common store in Australia, so if you're desperate you can pick it up and it will work.

I'm having no problem at all without it.

I'm seeing nice first layers and good prints pretty much despite whatever PLA I put through it.

I do warm the bed up then switch it off before starting the print though.

I do see varying degrees of difficulty removing the raft though, even with the same filament.
